ROOTS OF PEACE

Religion(s) and peace in conflict-ridden countries

Save the Date: Friday, October 27th to Saturday, November 5th 2023

Peace Education and excursion to Israel and Palestine

On this trip to Israel and Palestine we plan to take you to important religious centers of three world religions.

In joined dialogue with inhabitants of the cities Bethlehem and Jerusalem we will explore these sacred yet political places and get to know how they link with the realities of the people.

On this excursion we visit a region, that have been fought over again and again during centuries. There, we will deep dive even further into how closely politics and religions are intertwined. During this trip there will be many opportunities to get in contact with local projects and persons committed to political peace and improved communication between different religions and cultures.

Peace is possible. We carry the roots within us!

Costs for students: 450€ (including flight, accomodation, meals (partly full board, partly half board), entrance fees and local transfer).

This travel price represents only a small part of the actual costs. A large part of the trip is financed by grants from the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart.

Regardless of this, further subsidies are possible. Just contact us!

Faciliators: Andreas Beier (Teacher, Coach, Peace Educator), Andrea Heissler-Keinath (International Office of NGU), Alexandra Holzbauer and Claudia Kook (Ecumenical University Chaplaincy)

We would be happy to welcome participants from many different cultural backgrounds. Number of participants is limited to 20.

Application form and further information coming soon!

Please note: We travel to a crisis region! We are constantly monitoring current political developments and trying to assess the risk. If it seems too dangerous for us to visit certain places, we reserve the right to change the travel program or cancel the entire trip.
